How to buy gold and silver leaf for your craft

Type of Gold and silver leaf
1.Real gold and silver leaf normal should have sign of elephant stamp (Official Government Aprroved Stamp Certifiying 100 percents Pure Gold) on it if you buy in thailand . Some of stamp may have 100 percents stamp too.
2. Imitation Gold leaf is not the real gold but It make for replace gold which is cheaper than real gold leaf
Remark - Real gold 24 K weight is very light

How to USE GOLD LEAF FOR

Decorate items for furniture, food, antique, photo frame, art and craft, sculpture, and multi-purposes.
Suitable for general gilding.
Widely used in lettering and decorating bookbindings, and popular in interior design and artistic work include with scrapbook.
Use on wood, sand, cement, glass, metal, carved and raised letters, signboards,trucks and general flat surfaces.
It may be a mixture in cosmetic purpose. Real gold could improve skin.
___________________________Caution technique of using gold and silver leaf1. Beware a humid or slightly oily surface. 2. Use only a moist or water to provide a light tackiness for food. Donot use imitation gold leaf on food. 3. Open the book per sheet slowly and not to disturb the leaf before actual use to avoid wrinkles or tears. 4. Gold leaf can fly! Work in an area free from wind to reduce the chance of the leaf blowing away. If it fly, do not attempt to catch it mid-airuse a piece of paper or card board to support the falling of gold leaf. Gently blowing may flatten the leaf to its original shape.5. Rub butter or oil on the side of hand before pick up gold or silver leaf with Gilders' tip. Make sure your knife is dry, oil free and has a smooth blade. Place the Gilders' knife under it, pick it up and place back in the original book. 6. Place your slightly greased tip on top of the leaf and pick it up, then transfer it to the object which you are gilding. After placement of the leaf, gently tab the leaf, with the Gilders' tip or another very soft clean brush, to assist in its adherence and push it into crevices. 7. Repeat the procedure of brushing the Gilders' tip across your greased hand and pick up leaf several times before needing to repeat this action. 8. Work slowly to prevent cracks and breaks in the surface of the leaf. 9. To cut leaf, cut from -the book per sheet- so that you are not cutting on top of the other leaves.
10. Slightly use a clear (lacquer) spray to coat or to protect its surface after the job is done.
