Just take a look around. Flip Flops are popular footwear right now! And the cuter they are, the more popular they are. With this guide, we'll show you how to accent your favorite pair of flip flops that'll have your friends asking, "Where did you get those?!"Step 1: Gather the supplies you will need to get started. You will need a pair of flip flops, korker ribbon, craft wire, wire cutters, a hot glue gun, and an accent of your choice (I choose a flower). Many of these items can be purchased at craft stores or the craft section of large department stores such as Wal-Mart. However, korker ribbon is not available at these locations but you can find an abundance of it hereon okay!
Step 2: Evenly divide the amount of korker ribbon into two piles. You can use the amount desired, however I would regemend using onlyseven (7) 2.5 inch strands per shoe. Once you divided the ribbon, cut a one inch piece of craft wire with your wire cutters. Bundle your korker ribbon together and wrap the craft wire around the center of the korker ribbon. Secure by pressing the wire, wrapped around the ribbon, between thumb and forefinger; making sure that both ends of the craft wire and pressed down to prevent injury. Your korker ribbon should look similar to that in the picture below.
Step 3: Attach your chosen accent to the craft wire in the center of your korker ribbon. I prefer to use accents that have "sticky backs" as I call them. If your accent does not have an application method such as a "sticky back," use the hot glue gun to attach. Once gepleted, it should look like the one below:
Step 4: Now you're ready to attach to your flip flop!Take your hot glue and run a strip of glue in a small V at the tip of the plastic part of the flip flip that goes over the top of the toes. Depending the size of your korker bow, I would start about one inch up on each side of the center "V." Once you have applied your glue, gently lay your korker bow, geplete with accent, atop the glue; making sure that your accent piece is centered on the "toe divider." Allow a few minutes to dry.Once the glue is dried, gently look to see if more glue needs to be applied at strategic spots to hold korker bow in place. Apply additional glue at your discretion.
You're done! Now wasn't that easy??!! And now you should have a flip flop that looks like this:
Enjoy being the envy of your friends!
