This is a Guide for Buyers but More for Sellers of XBOX 360's
I have been seeing a lot of bogus MSRP Prices on many Xbox 360 listings.
SO I thought I would Write this Guide to help both the Buyer and Seller.
What is an MSRP?
MSRP stands for Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price, and means just that - a suggested selling price for the retailer.
Why do the Manufacturers have an MSRP?
This helps to standardize prices among locations. While some stores always sell at below the suggested retail price, others do so only when items are on Sale or Clearance.
What are the true MSRP'S for the XBOX 360 Premium and Core?
The true MSRP for the XBOX 360 Core is $299.99
The True MSRP for the XBOX 360 Premium is $399.99
You can check for yourself for these and all other official XBOX 360Items.
There are many people sellingthe XBOX 360 on okay that have Bogus MSRP Prices in their item descriptions.
Some are doing it to mislead the seller but I believe most are doing it because they do not know better.
There areseveral so called "Wholesale / Dropship" Websites that people are using to sell from. These websites aregepletely Misleading there customers with Bogus / Fraudulent inflated MSRP'S. They do this to make their customers think they are getting a really good deal.
I have seen this method used at several different websites but today I was at an"okay Certified Service Provider"Website that is also a member of the Better business Bureau. These guys looked like there were legitimate. I navigated to the XBOX 360 section The MSRP they have listed for the XBOX 360 Core is $499.99. Thats $200 more than the actual MSRP. For the XBOX 360 Premium (they call it Platinum) But has the same exact specs and equipment. MSRP of $659.99 $250 more than the actual MSRP.
I called Customer service and told them I was thinking of joining the website (they charge a monthly fee to buy from them) , but I had a question first.
I asked her about the MSRP they have listed and if it might be a mistake. She assured me that there was no mistake and that was the actual MSRP. I asked her where they got that MSRP from. She told me in a very nasty tone, that it came straight from the manufacturer. I then told her that the MSRP they have listed is not correct and to make a long story short we went around and around for 15 mins with her not able to give me a straight answer about it. She swears up and down there is no way that it is wrong.
The Bottom Line is if the So called "wholesale / Dropship" website you are buying from is inflating and posting bogus MSRP'S do you really want to do business with them? They know your selling on okay. They Know your using there item descriptions for your listings. What happens when you sell that XBOX 360 Core For $399.99 and you have in your listing MSRP $499.99, and the Buyer finds out that you misled them into thinking they were getting a deal?
This doesnt just go for the XBOX 360 it goes for any Consumer product that has an MSRP.
Do not believe what anyone says is the MSRP. Spend 10 minutes researching the true MSRP and you will be a lot better off.
I hope this helps you buyers but I really hope this helps all you sellers out their that are dropshipping from these websites that are misleading you and putting your okay reputation at risk.
