Easy Instructions for Putting on Indian Glass Bangles
If you are not familiar with Indian glass bangles, they can be a challenge to put on! These delicate glass bracelets take a bit of practice, but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. You should wear the smallest size possible for the best look and least amount of breakage.
Follow these easy instructions:
BE CAREFUL! They are breakable and you don't want to cut yourself. ALWAYS use lotion when putting glass bangles on or taking them off.
Apply lotion or mehndi oil to your hand. This is the key, you can't use too much lotion.
Loosen up your hand by giving yourself a quick hand massage (or better yet, have someone else give you a hand massage!). Apply more lotion/oil if needed.
Join your fingers together to make your hand as small as possible. Keep your hand loose, do NOT stiffen your hand.
Hold your hand up VERTICAL from the floor. If you keep your arm down in a horizontal position, the bangles will be more difficult to get on.
Slowly and carefully work the bangles over your hand in small groups (2-4) at a time, until all bangles are on. Wiggle your fingers if needed. Make sure the bangles are not overlapping, they should be directly on top of each other. If you put on one bracelet at a time, they are more likely to break.
Clap and move your hands often to draw attention to your new jewelry! ENJOY!
Use as much lotion or mehndi oil as needed. You can't use too much!
Mix-and-match your bangles together to form new unique sets. Have fun with them! Wearjust a few on each wrist, one super large set on one wrist, or whatever works for you. Indian glass bangles make a wonderfully unique gift. Try out a Bangle-Of-the-Month club membership.
